PERSSILAA SNOMED-CT registration succesful

May 28th, 2014 PERSSILAA has successfully registered as one of the projects that are going to use SNOMED-CT for semantic interoperability. SNOMED Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) is the most comprehensive, multilingual clinical healthcare terminology in the world, plus the most accepted and used. The use of a standard clinical terminology makes a significant contribution towards improving the quality and safety of healthcare by enabling consistent representation of meaning in an electronic health record. Therefore, PERSSILAA will get benefits and will contribute to the improvement of patient care, providing our future platform with semantic interoperability features.
SNOMED CT is owned, maintained and distributed by the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO). The IHTSDO is a not-for-profit association, which is owned and governed by its national Members. In April 2014 twenty-seven countries were Members of IHTSDO, more countries are joining every year.
From now on, PERSSILAA will participate as a Research – ICT project in Health in the SNOMED In Ation initiative(http://www.snomedinaction.org/sct-table.html), improving visibility and getting the benefits from the SNOMED-CT community.
