Bachelor thesis healthy eating habits for elderly

May 6th, 2014 Within the PERSSILAA project, a bachelor thesis of Creative Technology at University Twente is being developed on the topic: “Ensuring Healthy Eating Habits for Elderly”. Nowadays there is a growing popularity of smartphone applications aiming at nutrition monitoring; however, the majority of these applications require time-consuming manual reporting that is commonly not suitable for the elderly population. Based on the state-of-art automatic dietary monitoring at home and on questionnaires distributed among the elderly population, Yannick intends to identify a set of requirements for a system able to unobtrusively and continuously monitor eating habits of older adults. This work will also establish guidelines on how the system should provide feedback and nutrition related recommendations to the elderly as well as to practitioners and informal caregivers. The assignment should result in a design mock-up of the system.
