We are short-listed for the Innovation Radar Prize 2016 of the European Commission! Based on our ICT supported services for healthy aging “PERSSILAA project” and the Dutch spin-of and scale-up “Langgezond.nl”. This means that we are considered to be among the top 10 Research and Innovation Actions of the ICT subprogram with respect to the innovation potential.
We developed an online, multidimensional screening tool to self-assess general health status, physical, cognitive and nutritional state and train these via separate modules. The ICT supported services will prevent fraility and functional decline and transform our care system from a too costly, too fragmented reactive disease oriented system into a sustainable personalized proactive self-managed system.
Since April 2016 it has been offered to over 10,0000 aged persons via more than 30 GP’s in 4 municipalities with the involvement of 6 welfare organisations. The societal RoI (Return on Investment) is positive with costs of ± €19 per user paid to the entity by municipalities. This innovation is foreseen to be scaled up to more regional municipalities in the Netherlands and to the municipalities in the region of Campania in Italy around 2016/2017.
The Innovation Radar is an initiative of the European Commission focusing on the identification of high potential innovations and the key innovators behind them in FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects. The best 4 innovations will pitch before a jury at the ICT Proposers Days 2016 held in Bratislava on 26 and 27 of September 2016. The nomination is accompanied with a public opinion poll. Visit the Innovation Radar website and click on ‘vote’ if you think, we have the most innovative initiative.
